Something I always find interesting-
People waiting for a convenient or comfortable time to do something they want. If you want to see what’s truly important to you - look where you put your time and focus. A lot of people say “I wish”, “I want”, “I should”, “I need to”, etc. What they’re really saying is “not now”. If now isn’t the time to start working on bettering yourself - in whatever capacity - then when will be? When will it become important enough to you to set aside the time? You’re most likely going to have to take time from something else to dedicate to that thing you want/wish/should/need, whatever. It happens to me from time to time on certain things to. I’m just at a point where A.) I’m honest with myself about my priorities. B.) I’m becoming disciplined enough to recognize those areas and take measures to put down the unnecessary thing, so that I can give my attention to the thing that will give me what I want. It’s called sacrifice, and you’re going to have to get comfortable with that as a word, a concept, and, most important, an action, if you want to make any progress with yourself. Chances are, you’ve already exercised sacrifice in some area of your life where it matters. You just need to apply it to the other areas of your life where you want to see change. It’s not an easy road, but that’s why there are a lot of people wishing and dreaming about better things and only a small percentage actually living it. The key is recognizing the areas that take your time, energy, and focus, and start to utilize that time toward working toward one of your goals. You’ll meet resistance. Regardless of the external source it arrives from - friends, activities, entertainment - realize that they are only triggers to the resistance to discomfort that lies within. This is where you’ll find out where your heart really lies. How dedicated are you to your goal, your desire, your passion, your love? Are you a true believer, or simply a tourist? Self awareness is the first step to real progress.

It is not easy to grow and become self aware. There are people who die without being able to find out how it works, and in my opinion, it is only a matter of how much you try. If you are not trying to understand yourself, then of course, you will never be able to learn. You have to open up to yourself more than anyone else. I hope that you do manage to find out how you can be more self aware.
